The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, or Holocaust Memorial for short, in the historic center of Berlin commemorates the approximately six million Jews who were murdered under the rule of Adolf Hitler and the National Socialists. The memorial, which was designed by Peter Eisenman, consists of 2,711 cuboids concrete steles. It was built south of the Brandenburg Gate and was inaugurated in May 2005. The memorial and the associated information center are looked after by the Foundation Memorial for the Murdered Jews of Europe. Ask questions or listen in!
